Architecture advisory
Led and advised the technical team on software and system architecture — architecture reviews, implementation guidance, technical planning and diagramming — aligning engineering execution with product and stakeholder needs.
Engagements led by our founder across twelve years of site reliability and platform engineering. The quotes are verbatim and unedited, and the figures are the ones measured at the time — not rounded up for a website.
The platform began on a single outdated dedicated server — one machine to lose, manual deploys, and a security posture that had accumulated rather than been designed.
We migrated it to AWS, then led the transformation of the monolithic application into a microservices-oriented architecture built to scale for thousands of concurrent realtime users. Alongside it we built centralized monitoring, metrics and alerting, so production had visibility, incidents had a response path, and reliability became something measurable instead of hoped for.

faster deploys, lower storage cost, quicker scale-out
“Abdo’s expertise as a cloud engineer is unmatched. He successfully migrated our systems from an outdated dedicated server to AWS. Over the years he has helped us enhance our security, optimize our infrastructure efficiency, and implement robust CI pipelines. His technical knowledge is second to none, and his ability to tailor solutions to our needs has been transformative for our business.”

Encirca ran on cPanel web hosting: the arrangement that works until the business outgrows it, at which point scaling means buying a bigger box and every deployment is performed by hand. The move to Kubernetes had to happen without interrupting a live service, and without disturbing a compliance posture the business depended on.
We rebuilt it on Amazon EKS, then built the observability and security layers that had never existed — work that fed directly into the organization’s successful SOC 2 certification renewal.
Online ticket booking is one of the least forgiving workloads there is. Demand is not steady — it arrives in a spike the moment a match goes on sale, the transaction is financial, and the audience is public and vocal when it fails.
We supported the club’s online ticket-booking systems as cloud engineers: designing scalable infrastructure patterns for the load profile, and building the monitoring and operational visibility needed to hold availability and performance through the peaks.
Not every engagement is a build. WALT Labs needed dependable production support across a varied set of client environments, where the work changes shape daily and the environments are never uniform.
We covered CMS support, cloud operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, web functionality support and publishing assistance — including client-facing technical execution, where the person doing the work also has to explain it to the customer.
“We were very impressed with Abdo! He’s very detail-oriented, great at communication and leadership, and delivered high-quality results.”

WALT Labs
Led and advised the technical team on software and system architecture — architecture reviews, implementation guidance, technical planning and diagramming — aligning engineering execution with product and stakeholder needs.
Resolved recurring server-management problems, built new servers, and built an issue-management system so work could be tracked rather than remembered. Development-side issues were fixed rather than handed back.
Brought an aging WordPress installation current without the outage everyone was quietly expecting — the same sequencing discipline a phased agency migration needs, at a scale where the whole thing is visible at once.
Large-scale services infrastructure on Google Kubernetes Engine with autoscaling and load balancing, blue/green releases, and a centralized ELK logging and anomaly-detection stack — 32% lower system latency and improved booking availability. PagerDuty workflows cut mean time to resolution.
Administered 500+ Linux servers across multiple data centers and hosting for thousands of websites, with automated S3 backups and infrastructure monitoring. Nginx load balancing and caching reduced page load times 36%.
For solicitation packages we can provide contactable references with project scope, dates, and contract value, in whatever format the RFP requires.
Tell us what it runs on today. We’ll tell you honestly what modernizing it would take.
